President and CEO, Laurie M. Clark took the opportunity to attend the IIAC Outlook 2011 Luncheon Series in Vancouver featuring distinguished speakers Murray Leith (Odlum Brown Securites Ltd), Diane Francis (Editor-At-Large, National Post), Peter Gibson (CIBC Wood Gundy Portfolio Strategist), and Nathan Narusis (Business Development Manager, Bullion Management Group Inc.).

The outlook for 2011 was by and large favorable, but the consensus expressed amongst all speakers was the need for individuals to understand the industry and the markets more intelligently. Individuals must start taking the time to get the nowledge necessary to understand fundamental industry concepts.  Financial literacy is becoming a more dominant topic of discussion across the country.

Smarten Up Institute welcomes this increasing discussion on the topic of education.  Its courses are developed with the specific intent to teach the fundamentals of the financial industry across Canada.
