Smartenu Up Institute

Science of ETFs - Toronto, October 19-20, 2015

This two (2) day course explores the history of the most traded instrument at present: ETFs or Exchange Traded Funds.

There are a myriad of ETFs available and there is widespread misinformation and misconceptions associated with this product. ETFs are being created every day and are attractive to investors as they are as diverse as a Mutual Fund. However, they act like a stock and can be used by investors and institutions as a method of portfolio hedging.

In this course we'll review the ETF structure, their characteristics and the creation process, the indexes on which the ETFs are based, ETF strategies, and the myths of ETF investing. This course will compare ETFs to other products and review tax favourability that has provided momentum in the product's growth. Review the evolution of the ETF in Canada and the global market and explore growth opportunities by taking an in-depth look at the portfolio strategies and hedging models

All course materials are provided. Upon confirmation of registration, the student will receive a free one-year subscription to Investment Executive, Canada's Newspaper for Financial Advisors.

Note:  Location of classes will be confirmed closer to the date of the course.
