The Smarten Up Institute’s “Inside Canada’s Mutual Fund Industry” course will provide students a broad understanding of the mutual fund industry (from a buy side and sell side perspective). Students will learn the history of the product, how the industry operates in Canada and plans for the future. They will recognize the participants in the industry including the Fund Manufacturers, Distributors, FundSERV, CDS and third parties. Regulatory rules will be highlighted and explanations will be offered as to how various departments in the government impact the operations of the industry.
This is the perfect introductory course for new employees or new entrants into mutual fund operations departments to prepare for a company’s internal course.
