The financial marketplace requires a more focused and in depth Project Management discipline due to the complexity of the subject and the compliance requirements that are inherent in most financial industry projects. For example, the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Act of 2002 is a law relevant in today’s financial world that requires specialized knowledge of audit and compliance requirements, regulatory changes and the accounting knowledge needed to implement project requirements as well as indepth knowledge of how these changes are managed by the firm and its employees.  

Changes to financial, audit and compliance legislation are fast becoming fundamental knowledge requirements in the discipline of Project Management and Finance .
